If we want a body that is ‘fit for purpose’ then we need to move it move it, it’s that simple.  Reframing ‘exercise’ like this can be the key to ensuring we maintain our joint mobility and range of motion, our strength and flexibility and our overall health.    Regardless of any limitations you have, finding a way to move is a must.

Jo’s attitude towards movement is definitely a mindful and functional one, think controlled, breath and alignment focused movement to develop strength and stability of both mind and body.  She has teaching qualifications in Mat Pilates, Core Fusion Barre by Exhale, Yin Yoga and Hatha Yoga and has over a 15 years of experience teaching, in the Caribbean, Spain and the UK.


Private Sessions

Private sessions can happen for various reasons. For some it’s needing some preparation time before joining a group class, or dealing with a limitation that a group class just can’t cater to. Others want to create a personalised sequence they can do at home and yes, sometimes it’s a you and a couple of friends wanting a regular class that feels like a private experience, but at a time that works, and at a reasonable cost!

Whatever your reason, Jo offers private small group or 1:1 sessions to support you on your journey. This is a bespoke service, adapted to your needs and held in the micro-studio.

The price for a private class is £30, and can be up to 4 people.

What is Hatha yoga?

Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga that emphasizes physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), mindfulness and meditation, to promote balance, flexibility, and inner peace. It is suitable for all levels and focuses on aligning the body and calming the mind, making it a foundational practice for overall wellness.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga that targets the body’s connective tissues, including ligaments, tendons, and fascia. By holding passive poses for extended periods, typically 3-5 minutes, Yin Yoga allows for deep stretching and release, promoting flexibility and joint mobility. This practice enhances circulation, reduces tension, and helps to balance the body’s energy, offering a calming counterbalance to more dynamic forms of exercise.

What is Mat Pilates?

Mat Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body alignment. Performed on a mat, this low-impact workout emphasizes controlled movements, proper breathing, and precision, making it suitable for all fitness levels. It helps build strength, improve posture, and promote a balanced, toned physique.

Choose the Gentle class if you’re working with limitations, or the Fusion class if you can move freely up and down from the mat.
